Unlike other professors he doesnt talk himself in circles and actually has a strong comprehension of the material. Has the standard i'm better than everyone attitude but most of the time can keep it under control. |

Always willing to talk, excellent knowledge-wise, couldn't be more willing to help someone, the only problem is he CAN be boring, but if the kids in the class are comfortable with him, he's more than willing to banter back and forth w/ a little humor and tell you stories about how he used to put giant boxes of sander disks on some IT guys desks and watch them wonder how big the drives are ;) |

| 81 | 20023 | Easy grader, but I think it's because he doesn't know what he's teaching. Questions are often met with, "I'll get back to you". I had him for 484 another one of IT's ridiculously easy classes, where only examples are taught. |

| 95 | 20023 | I have had some programming experience before so this class was not to hard, however it was still challenging. Prof. Bierre is very nice and is willing to help with anything in JAVA. He knows his stuff and his grading is strict, but very fair in comparison to 3 other programming professors I have had. You won't find a better teacher for programming. Yes its boring, but its a dry subject to begin with. |

Some days better than others in terms of lecture vs. in class work. Some aspects of the homework are not abundantly clear, but only by fault of the department (who writes HW), not Bierre in particular. He certainly tries his best and it shows. |
