4820023THANK GOD THEY SHIPPED HIM BACK TO GERMANY!!
I had him in Spring 2002. I have ADD, and it's really really hard for me to pay attention to what professors are saying. It's even harder when they're a high pitched midget babbling for 2 hours in barely audible English! Like everyone else said, he's a late grader, rambles on forever if you ask him a question. He is also shocked to learn that people could not get teh same answers he did, especially in Scheme (Lisp) or Prolog
7120012Boring, unintelligible lectures. Knows his stuff though. Asking questions can be dangerous. Tests can blind-side you too.
5320012Ignore the person who said he's improving. You ask him what color the sky is and you will never hear the word blue (or gray in the case of Rochester). He'll talk for 20 minutes on the same thing and still never explain what it is. He is pretty bad with returning things too. STAY AWAY!
7520012Strange little man. That about sums it up. He's very nice and judging from last quarter's votes his teaching methods are improving. Very helpful out of class but lectures need a bit of work.
6520012If he didn't have handouts, I wouldn't understand a thing.
4820011Absolutely the worst teacher that I have ever had! Very uninspiring and unhelpful lectures. I learned a fair amount in his CSX class, but that was because I sat in on another professor's section of the class. Stay far away. You've been warned!
6520011Enthusuastic about teaching and intends to be helpful, but leaves you more confused than when you started. Lectures will put you to sleep.
New students would be better off reading the material from the book.
6520011We never got Project 1 OR Project 2 back. He's a nice guy with good intentions, but not a very good teacher.
4820011Although Andreas is very knowlegable in certain areas of computer science including unix and C environments he fails as a teacher to teach clearly. Project grading was never given back until after the final with no hope of learning from the project experience.
5320011Poor and late feedback on projects, confusing examples
4820011Tells the students there's a better way to do something, but not how to do it! Inspects every line of code!
5820011Very Poor Lab instructor. Will not answer students questions. Took ONE HOUR to answer a simple UML question. At the end of the hour, he still didn't answer the question and we just said we understood to get rid of him so we could just ask another person in our lab.
