4820012lives up to he statement of "those who cant do, teach"
7120012Really cool person. Nice guy. Very bad at teaching the material.
4820012This guy is obsessed with drinking! The only thing you'll hear in his class is "when I was going for my masters...." He thinks he knows everything, but if you ask him a question he will usually respond with "I don't know." And after that will give you some BS response as to how to solve it, which usually doesn't even apply to what you're trying to do.
If you go to his office and he's writing a proposal, take a number. Students don't come first with him, his proposals are his main priority.
9520012i'm not sure where people are getting that he cannot do the homework, i have yet to see him stumble to the point that it is unforgivable, and if he does run out of time or is unable to answer the question right away, he will give you the solution during the next class. he has many real world examples that show you that you do use this stuff, and yes, he does talk about drinking, but that helps keep the class light. i would much rather hear stories from a real person every now and again than have a professor who lectures for the ENTIRE class without fail. if lectures are what you prefer, just read the book – it’s the same thing. just do the homework and you should do just fine.
6520011Really cool guy, horrible at teaching. How can he expect us to do the problems, when he can't do them himself?
9920011He sometimes seems inconsistent, but I really like the learning environment, nice and light. He's really lenient on his grading, but I still learn the material, so I feel that my work that I put into it is rewarded instead of getting C's for making stupid mistakes when I know the material. It's best to get through the class with someone else to do homework with, otherwhise it can be really hard. But I've learned a lot, and enjoyed it, too.
9120011I really liked Dr. Crassidis as a teacher and a person. He made classe enjoyable with stories of real life experiences in engineering and the joke of the day. He teaching was a slight downside for some topics but overall good. The homework was a challenge but was the right amount. The quizes are just homework problems, so if you understand them, you can do well. The tests are a homework problem and one or two others. If you do the work. You can do really well in this class.
9920011ok so crassidis likes to get hammered on fridays with the rest of the ME dept at happy hour. that doesn't make he is a bad guy. he is a nice guy and will help you with HW if you go and see him. i feel he is a smart guy and willing to help his students as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort in his class. i worked hard and received an A. he also uses a lot of real work examples and talks about his job expierence at CALSPAN he has a lot to offer.

9120011Crassidis is a great guy and has the potential to be a great professor. He knows Statics cold, but sometimes gets tripped up on the homework he assigns. If you put in the time and complete all the assigned homework you will get an A in the class. His quizzes and tests are difficult, but his grading is very reasonable. He may not always be consistent in his grading, but he is always willing to discuss your grades. Crassidis enjoys discussing his experiences in industry- pay attention, he has a lot of good advice. Make sure you go to happy hour with him at least once during the quarter (he drinks Labatt Blue or Molson!)
