| 65 | 20023 | I had "Professor" Berenbaum as a Lab Instructor Assistant for my Computer Concepts (4002-340) class, and without question, he is NOT one to have a sense of humor. I really don't know a lot of hardware/networking concepts, and he DEFINITELY did not help me out when I needed it. I even sought out assistance from Prof. Perez-Hardy OVER Berenbaum if you can believe that ;) Many of my friends had him for Java and said that he's the WORST. ANY other professor is a better choice than this guy, he is most definitely the DRYEST professor out there. |
| 48 | 20023 | For the love of god, do NOT, I repeat *NOT* take this man in any class!! I had him for java III (319) - the first 8 weeks were review of 318 (which isn't too bad, review is nice) but then started off on a bizzare range of topics arranged in a haphazard manner... Pracicums were graded incredibly harshly, and his tests were poorly made (spelling errors, no specifications, vague meanings). I got a 54 on my midterm (class average 70) and immediately resubmitted it to him for regrading (several of my errors caused by above mentioned problems). The final was last Thursday, and I have yet to recieve my midterm back - kind of a problem when about 15 of 30 questions on the final were extremely similar to the midterm. His accent makes it hard to understand what he's talking about some times, and he doesn't really seem to know what he's talking about when you can understand him. One case in point: On a practicum, I had a question on what we were supposed to submit... I asked him twice, had to explain that a "Client/Server" Program *needed* a client to test a server.. and still his response was a blank stare. Granted, this *was* his first time teaching, and he's still evidently a student because he told me he had a take home exam himself due... Maybe he'll suddenly improve over the next 7 days of break... I doubt it though... Steer clear. Try Bierre. |
| 68 | 20023 | Had him for Intro to programming. Hard to get a hold of. Doesn't answer questions well. Looks at you like youre stupid when you ask the question. For an intro class, it should have been basic stuff, but when I asked for help by a student who knew how to program he even had trouble with what I had to do! |

If I already knew how I wouldn't have to take the class... (java III and Computer Concepts Lab although he won't be teaching anymore java!) |
