99 | 20023 | I had Professor Border for my Data Comm online course (4002-341), and I must say, as my first online course and knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about ANYTHING that has to do with networking, I had a 98 average throughout the entire quarter. Very receptive to questions, quizzes were not tough at all, and he knows a lot about the subject. Networking is definitely one his favorite things to talk/teach, so make sure you take him for at least one of your networking courses, you won't regret it. |
88 | 20023 | Border is a good professor he knows his stuff but has the tendency to get sidetracked. He grades fair and is very approachable. I wish IT had more prof's like him |
95 | 20023 | He is a very nice professor. His grading is fair. He will help you if you had problems. Take him |
75 | 20023 | I had this guy in Internetworking Lab and OS Scripting lab. He is not that great in either. In Internetworking Lab, he is often vague and uses a lot of other peoples material. Tests are ok, some questions are far reaching. In OS Scripting Lab, if I ever had a question for him, he would get Lutz or ask another student. Nice guy, ok professor. I will say that he is a fair grader. |
99 | 20023 | I think he is great. He has reasonable expectations from his students and is VERY willing to help you out. All teachers should be this way. Nice person too. |
99 | 20023 | He is awesome. Hes well prepared, comes on time to class. Fair grader and explains the material very well. Also, he knows what he is talking about. I had him for 342 Lecture and Lab. Always available even if its not his office hours. Take him!! |
81 | 20023 | He was a really nice guy, but he didn't seem to be any help whenever I had any questions. He was the easiest grader I've had in my 5 years here though. |
95 | 20023 | class: 342
Excellent teacher. Relates everything to real world. Very easy to talk to. |

88 | 20012 | Funny goofy guy. Presents the information somewhat quickly. This can make labs difficult to do. However he does get all the major concepts across. Good with questions and a fair grader. He is a bit unorganized when it comes to assignments though. |
95 | 20012 | I had Border for OS Scripting lab, and I would gladly take him again, he would look at the code, and if it works, he was happy. Nothing like "No comments", minus 50% which seems so common among the teaching staff here. Take him for lab, I cant comment on his lectures though, having not taken him, Stackpole for labs is great though. |

99 | 20012 | Great professor. Professor Border has an extremely positive attitude. He genuinely cares about students learning material and presents it in a relaxed and fun way. I highly recommend taking this professor. He is a refreshing change of pace for teachers at RIT. |
78 | 20012 | Border is a nice guy, but he doesn't know much about OS scripting. His standard response to any question in lab: "Did you look at the man pages?" |
95 | 20012 | I love prof. border. he is the sweetest guy in the world. he doesn't answer questions the best as he could, but he really stresses the positives in students. he doesn't ever try and put you down which i find very rare in teachers here. he always says that it doesn't matter if you get an A, its ok to just get a C or B. i really like that. |
78 | 20012 | Border seems like he doesn't know his stuff and all his materials come from somewhere else. His assignments are the basic ones that all the networking classes have to do. He's very leniant in labs which is a good thing. He just seems like he doesn't know his material. He has a PhD?? |
99 | 20012 | One of the best professors I've encountered yet. If you take him for a class you won't regret it. |

99 | 20012 | Awesome guy. He doesn't know much but if you want a good grade and a fun class take him...especially for the labs. |
99 | 20012 | awesome guy |
99 | 20012 | C. Border rocks!
This guy knows his stuff and explains everything several times until you KNOW what you need to know. His grading is very fair, and gives chances for recovery. I'd take him again anytime. |
99 | 20012 | What more can anyone want in a teacher? Definately the most intelligent of the IT bunch, Border comes to us as one of the 2 or 3 PhD's in the department. He's clearly a brilliant man with a real love for his work. Unlike so many of the teachers in IT, Border really wants to be here, really wants you to learn, and really wants you to have fun doing it. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a class so much as I did his. It's too bad it was a rudimentary networking class that was mostly material I knew already, because I really enjoyed learning from him, and would have liked to do more. DEFINATELY take Border's classes if you can. They fill fast, for obvious reasons. |
99 | 20012 | Border is the coolest professor! He is funny and laid back. He knows his stuff well and makes the class very entertaining with his funny comments. He would also show videos from the web and show them during class. He is not a strict grader either. Take Border for a fun time. |
