48 | 20023 | Reason i dropped out of the chemistry dept. Terrible teacher. Friendly as long as you do all your work. If you're not a model student he'll hate you. And you dont want him to talk very close to you, his breath smells like dog poop. worst teacher ever. |
71 | 20012 | This is the grade I worked my A$$ off during a full quarter, He told us that to pass his course one didn't have to have taken chem classes on high school, False, I took chem on high school and got A's back then. THEN he goes at lightning speed teaching almost 2 chem chapters per week. If it where not from studying the book I'd probably fail. His test are nothing from what he teaches on class, and some aren't even in the book |
48 | 20012 | oh wow is all I can say about this class... I understood everything he went over in lectures, now if only he would test us on that!! He is a psyco, he throws eggs at us in class, he takes 10 minutes out of class time to yell at us about the clock that doesn't work that HE put up on the wall.... IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, STAY FAR AWAY FROM HIM!!! He says you don't need any high school experience... I took chem senior year and got a 100 in it for 2 of 4 quarters and a 99 the others... and I ended up with a low C in his class!! |
68 | 20012 | The guy is smart, but he's one of those professors that is either so smart that he can't bring it down to our level. or he is so insane that you can't follow him. My recommendation: he doesn't take attendance so just get the syllabus the first day and show up on test days. Teaching yourself Chemistry might be better then going to his class! |
75 | 20012 | Seeing as how I attended his class solely for tests and ended up with a B I can't really complain. But I did notice he was a really really really weird guy, erratic at times, and absolutley anal about possible exam copies being stolen. Overall, he seemed nice enough. |
61 | 20012 | Obviously knows what hes talking about, but his qualities end there. This teacher is very eccentric, and suffers greatly from mood swings during class. Often goes off on tangents that are completely irrelevant to course work. Also unwilling to forgive even the simplest mistakes. |
48 | 20012 | Rips out on random students. Has no office hours. Has no "son", "girlfriend", "eight grade class", and can't "talk to animals" |

78 | 20012 | |
48 | 20012 | HATE THIS GUY! Doesn't teach a thing. Then he makes up stories about his "son" and how he just got some from his "girlfriend". HE'S AT LEAST 60! Wastes class time talking about his personal life and the 9-dot club. DO NOT TAKE HIM! I got 70's on his exams and I ended up with a B. You wanna know why? BECAUSE HE CAN'T TEACH! and everyone else did bad too. Likes to constantly tell us how his "8th graders" are all smarter than us. First of all, he won't teach us anything. Then he sits back and insults us. WHAT A GUY! do NOT take him. |

85 | 20011 | If you go to class, study for the tests, and know a little about chemistry you should get an easy A in his class. He is often late and is by far the worst dressed professor at RIT. Overall a nice guy who explains the material fairly well. |
71 | 20011 | I would not suggest taking Reinhardt for your first chem class if you have a choice. He knows what he's talking about usually (note: he does pronounce nuclear as NUKE-YOO-LER and nucleus as NUKE-YOO-LUS), but I really can't get ahold of his style of teaching. It seems like he doesn't teach for the test and he doesn't test for what he teaches. Even if you come away from the class with a general understanding of the material (which can be difficult at times) you are in for some trouble when it comes to the tests, which will have you converting the speed of light from meters/sec, to calories, to milliliters (at least it seems that way sometimes). He's very thought provoking at times, but has a tendency to get way too involved with details. So once again, if you don't know what you're doing when it comes to chemistry, I wouldn't suggest taking him. |
53 | 20011 | do not have him as a teacher. his tests have nothing to do with his lectures. he is insane. |
61 | 20011 | He is insane...he doesnt know what hes talking about...aviod this teacher at all cost! |
81 | 20011 | He's tolerable when he shows up |
81 | 20011 | he definitely knows his stuff. The only problems it that we can not ask questions in his class, and if we need help we are to go to a graduate student for help. |
71 | 20011 | |
48 | 20011 | This teacher did not teach me anything. |
48 | 20011 | Crazy, Crazy dude. DONT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
85 | 20011 | Good professor and knows his stuff, however he is quite insane!!! |
48 | 20011 | I read all assignments and did all homeworks for the class. However, I never got above 75/100 for any of his exams. He taught you something, gave you something else in the exams. Exams are in a horrible format. He always took a lot of lecture time to read poems, talk about God, and other stuff. When he starts the CHE lectures, he is flying through the material. I felt that I was penalized so much in his class although I studied extremely hard. There is NO help coming from neither proffessor or Tutoring office. THey all turned me down. My advice is "Don't take this ..., if you can substitute it with someone else." |
78 | 20011 | Ok, This is how it works. If you have had a REALLY, REALLY good chem class in the past. You'll do fine. You don't go to class and get an easy "B". But if you're like me, beware. I'm dreadfully afraid of the final because my two other exam grades were 64 and 37. He is very hard to follow but does try to break up the monotony of the class by introducing weird jokes. I got an 88 on the last test because I didn't pay attention at all in class but read the book and took notes. A special hint: if you want to actually get his notes down, get a digital camera like I did and take pictures. It works well. |
78 | 20011 | He is ok, but he smells so bad.. He needs to take a shower before come to class. |
78 | 20011 | Knows material, leactures are boring and off-topic sometimes, wastes class time with trivial personal joke/issues and reams out random students and/or entire class for wrong answers. |
58 | 20011 | I think he's possibly bi-polar. He flipped out on a student one day for answering incorrectly. I never raised my hand again after that. He refuses to help outside of class too
|
48 | 20011 | Christian is a nice guy in person but a thornbush in the classroom. He does not teach chemistry well. He does not teach. I did not learn because he did not teach. Somehow I pulled off a B...don't know how, but I'm not going to ask him. |
71 | 20003 | He is a very strange but intelligent man. He does curve most of his tests but he tends to be somewhat forgetfull so the B you think you got was actually a C in his book. I don't think I would recommend this professor. |
48 | 20003 | Piece of Crap Teacher |
75 | 20002 | Very smary man. Lectures are boring. Exams hard. First day of class he said do not try and contact him because it most likely wouldnt work. He dropped an exam and curved a lot so the grading was fair. Be prepared to study if you take him. |
65 | 20002 | Discourages contacting him outside class, does not really teach material at times. Spends large amounts of all too precious class time talking about personal issues. Can be funny, but often times more annoying. |
61 | 20002 | |
48 | 20001 | REALLY BAD!!! Stay away. Only good thing is that he curves down so that a 40 is a D. Very boring, strange, and doesn't explain concepts well or encourage questions. |
91 | 20001 | |
53 | 20001 | horrible |
88 | 20001 | This guy is from a different planet!! |
71 | 20001 | Not a very good teacher. He definetely knew what he was doing, but couldn't teach it in a remotely interesting way. Tests and Final were very hard. |
95 | 20001 | I liked this professor. He's a bit quirky, and his lectures can seem to drone on after a while, but it's not his fault. Sometimes electron configurations just aren't exciting to college freshmen. If you read the assigned text before lecture, and don't mind an occasional bad pun, you should do fine in his classes. |
88 | 20001 | Professor Reinhardt is a fantastic teacher if you can stay awake. His exams are fair but tough, so it makes you study a bit... He is extremely approachable after class if you have any questions. |
65 | 20001 | Discourages approaching him following exams and requires all contacts "In Writing." He also does not test what he teaches in class, but creates test from a database of general chemistry questions. Overall, a poor professor. |
85 | 20001 | He cares about the subject matter he teaches. Its just to much detail to teach to a class of 250 in 10 weeks. In my book regardless of a grade I get if a Professor likes to teach he is good |
68 | 20001 | Exams are really tough even if you pay Complete attention in class. Furthermore he's a very annoying nerdy person. |
75 | 20001 | Not sure what to make of him. He really knows his stuff well, but he doesn't have a very good method of getting it over to his students. He doesn't make himself available very much outside of class and anything you say to him must be given in writing. Exams are tough, and not always consistent with class material covered. |
85 | 20001 | Cool guy. Really funny dude. Made class enjoyable. |
99 | 20001 | Very enthusiastic and thorough with his lectures. |
75 | 20001 | |
85 | 20001 | Decent teacher, but will put you to sleep. |
