91 | 20023 | Always kept me entertained because he had a metal rod that he would wave and fly around the room.....only got an A-minus because he never dropped the pole or threw it at random students in the class. |
75 | 20012 | He is extremely hard to understand but lenient when projects are due. Learning how to do graphs for his projects are vague and the exams range to be 82 questions long! |
99 | 20012 | This instructor is good! You will do well in Less-developed course if you follow the requirement of a research paper. Some who did not do well get lower grade because they failed to follow the requirement. He has a good knowledge of economy and he is more than willing to help you if necessary. I learned a lot from this course. This quarter, this course has no final exam |
91 | 20012 | He is obsessed with case studies... :) His lecture is not dry lecture read off slides. He actually tries hard to make you think and analyze data. |
61 | 20012 | Dumangane is very unorganized. At least two times during the semester he left class to get something from his office. His tests are very repetative and long. If you aren't the least bit interested in economics avoid Dumangane at all costs. |
53 | 20012 | This was the worst professor i have ever had. the man is truly unorganized and you cant understand a WORD he says. i had to learn the entire book by myself, put so much time into it and only got off with a C. He graded my papers badly too after i spent endless hours on them (i wish i was exagerrating). the man frustrates me too much and i'm so glad that class is over. plus the tests are 80-100 ?'s long, and basically impossible. i learned nothing. |
91 | 20012 | A pretty good professor overall. He was lenient with regard to when you had to hand in homework or papers. His tests weren't that difficult but they were 85-120 questions long. While he has an accent it wasn't a problem for me. I enjoyed his class. |
99 | 20012 | TINO is just too much fun to listen to, who cares about that grade A+++ |
61 | 20012 | I am very tolerant of teachers, but I hated this guy. Seriously, very few people in my class learned anything. he has a very messed up grading system and this is on top of illegible writing and a thick accent. I don't recommend him, you will do too much work and hate it. |

81 | 20011 | i had no clue what was going on in the class because i slept thru the whole term but i got an A |
99 | 20003 | The guy is great. It is very unfortunate that people don't understand him. His teaching in upper level classes assumes that you know your micro and macro, so he doesnt go in details about minor stuff. If you want to learn and have intelligent discussions and arguments on the subject of economics, by all means take his classes. As a rule of thumb - his classes are for economics majors and minors others should stay away! |
85 | 20003 | Didn't learn a damn thing in the class - literally! And I still got a B! You won't understand a word he says (mainly from his accent), but it's not as bad as you would think.
1) Before each test he gave us the SAME EXACT TEST to study. On the first one he even gave us the answers! 2) There is a 20 page term paper - 2 pages a week, but all you have to do is copy and paste an article from the internet and draw a graph about ANYTHING! He told us at the end of the quarter as long as each segment had a graph you got an auto 100! 3) His curve is nice. 50 is a D, 62.5 a C, 75 a B, 87.5 an A If you want an easy grade for memoring answers to tests and not learning anything, take him. It really helped me catch up on lost sleep! |
71 | 20002 | not good at explaining. but he did give grade curve for the class. but we are not learning anything. |
71 | 20002 | |
71 | 20002 | Had him at 8am, bad choice, fell asleep right in front of him well he was teaching. Was also afraid of getting beatin by the metal stick he caries. |
68 | 20002 | |
99 | 20002 | This professor is great. We all failed the test..so he let us take the exact same test again. He also has a really funny sense of humor once you get used to it. Oh yes...you have to do work to do well...so if your a slacker...don't take his class. |

48 | 20002 | sucks!! |
81 | 20002 | He gave easy grades. Actually... he gave the SAME exam again when the whole class didn't do well. He was a nice guy... but not as good a teacher. |
99 | 20002 | Love his teaching style. Really cares about his students. He is a real nice guy when you talk to him. I highly recommend him. |
78 | 20001 | This guy really knows his stuff #but thats really all. He has a very strong accent so it is very hard to understand him, and he often spends really long amounts of time explaining things at which point the class is still lost. |
71 | 20001 | Very hard to understand. Out of class papers assignments were confusing. |
48 | 20001 | Did not return assignments until end of quarter. There was no feedback if papers were unacceptable until it was too late. Exams were far too long for material presented. Test questions were repetitive and confusing. Very hard to understand. Cannot speak English well. He would often spend an entire class attempting to explain one problem yet the entire class would still be confused. Avoid this teacher at all costs and if possible avoid Economics in general. Its hard to believe he has taught here for 30 yrs. |
78 | 20001 | Dr. Dumangane's class confounds a lot of students... he does have a very thick accent and it's true that 99% of the time, what he's teaching in class isn't the material that will be on the test. (That requires reading the chapters; he does tell you to do that much.) However, he's pretty lenient with his grades, he gives out practice tests a lot, and if you can just stand to read the book and ignore what he's saying in class, you'll do fine. He's also quite willing to help you understand something one-on-one if you're confused. Economics majors/minors: this man could be your best friend or worst enemy. He's very knowledgeable - if you look beyond the scribbled charts and graphs and get him to tell you the bottom line information! |
75 | 20001 | His accent is very distracting, and his instruction is haphazard. You must read a lot of text on your own if you want to do well in this course. Responsible students will do alright, less motivated ones will find themselves in trouble. Fortunately, he is rather lenient with grades. Proceed at your own risk. |
