9920023Very good professor. Always available outside of class. His teachings are clear if you actually read the material before you show up to lecture. He is always willing to help. All tests can be prepared for by going over past quizs and assignments. His examples are quite challenging but he gives you the solutions. Classes were intersting and sometimes fun. Basically he challenges you to soldily learn physics concepts. If you want to learn you will do fine. If you want a free ride go somewhere else.
8520023Good professor
lectures well and you know exactly what will be on his exams.
7520023Grading is consistant with very little partial credit. Lectures very fast and very hard to keep up if you don't know (or study) material before hand. And so: Does not teach, simply explains. For Phys 2, did not help for webassign.
6120023If you have even the slightest difficulties with algebra or physics concepts, brush up on them BEFORE you take his class. Complex combinations of up to 5 formulas are combined with seemingly random letters to yeild a very solveable final equation. If you get lost in the middle though, you're quite doomed (he's halfway-again across the board). He's a very good guy, but it's hard stuff. Final was murder.
7120012Lectures could not have been more boring. Seems like a nice guy, however. He makes an honest effort and probably knows what he is talking about. The problem is that he has all of these prewritten notes and just copies them down, leaving one no time to try to understand the material. He is bad at teaching the material. He is great at writing a lot of meaningless notes on a blackboard. He is equally good at writing meaningless crap on a whiteboard. I got a B in a class that I easily should have had an A in. I would not take him. Take Chiu instead.
8820012Teaches at a reasonable pace. Tests and quizzes aren't bad at all, with plenty of announcements in class.
6820012Mediocre lecturer and horribly inconsistent in grading.
7520012He's not a bad person, or even that bad of a professor, but his class was heIlacious for my puny mind. He showed examples for situations but sometimes failed to communicate that they were special cases and the things derived from them were mostly useless. His lecture failed to grab anyone's attention. Homeowrk isn't too bad, especially if you go online and get hints off of the book's site. Tests were pretty bad on a whole, but he let us redo one. Again, he's not a fiend like some professors, but there are probably options more conducive to success.
6520012I had him for Univ. Physics II Lab. I would say that he is a 'decent' teacher, mediocre at best. As far as willingness to help he is good. Due to bias in class towards people that aren't interested in him and what he is doing I give him a lower grade. I should also mention that I believe he grades biased.
8520012Ok, this guy is weird as heck, but he is an ok prof. Not the best, but not the worst by far. Grading is fair, wants student to do well. VERY available outside of class. I had him for lab too, be prepared to do some work for him, but you will be rewarded.
7120012A nice guy but his grading system seems pretty strange. Difficult to focus on the material when your taking notes from his overhead but gives you chances to make up problems most people missed on the tests.
4820012He can't teach at all, he makes everything 100 times harder than it actually is.
