The Required homework is very reasonable, but isnt a lot. Anyone who just wants a good teacher or one who is very patient, this is your man. |

| 99 | 20011 | Hoefer was a great Calc I teacher. I have never taken calc before, but he made it seem so easy. The homework is rarely graded, and tests seem fair. He knows his stuff, and teaches very well. Friends of mine in other sections were doing hours of homework a night when I didn't get any homework, and I knew more than they did. This guy rocks, and he really cares about calc. Take him if math is hard for you. |

His test were not bad and he gives a decent amount partial credit. One other thing, I was pleased that he actually appraoched me about a month ago and asked me how my classes were going and how i did in Clac. 3 and 4. It showed me that he really cared for his students. TAKE HIS CLASS. |

| 95 | 20002 | Dr. Hoefer is an excellent teacher. Doesn't mind being corrected at all. I'm not sure where the "cruel attitude" that was mentioned in another student evalution of him is. Very nice man who will spend extra time to help confused students. |
| 95 | 20002 | I don't know where that one person got the idea that he is cruel. If anything, he's the opposite. Hoefer admits often which problems confused him when he read them the first time. I have him now (20002) for Prob and Stats 1. He only gives homework about every other class and spends a lot of time going over it when he feels it is necessary. He explains things very well - so well in fact that the class may seem too easy if you've already taken statistics in high school. Tests and quizzes are very fair and he really wants students to do well. I guess my biggest suggestion would be to get the student solutions manual because sometimes the answers in the back of the book are wrong. It also is nice to have when doing your homework, which he collects about 1/3 of the time. (He always tells you ahead of time which ones he will collect.) |

His grading was incredibly fair and his tests were reasonable. After having a horrible experience with another calc teacher first quarter, this class was a breathe of fresh air! |
