7820023Having to take this professor for Programming I and II as a New Media student was painful. He knows a lot, but couldn't communicate it well at all. The projects are annoying, because they are based on class assignments instead of letting people choose their own. He also takes a long time to grade projects, and for Programming I he gave everyone in the class incompletes to start because he didn't have our final grades on time.

5820023His teaching style can be boring and redundant when covering class material(bring a pillow to class). He also does not clearly explains the concepts very well and tends to lecture for most of the class time; leaving only 15 minutes to do the in-class exercises. MOST IMPORTANT: he takes about 6 weeks to hand back the assignments, so expect a surprise grade at the end.
7120012I took goodman for programming for the WWW. Wasn't very helpful with answering questions. Would try to answer a question, but not answer to what you asked. Lectures for the whole class (1 hour 40 min) and then gives you 10 min to do in class assignments that take hours to complete. Thought he was boring and didn't teach very well (just read the slides, didn't write examples... would put an exaple of a program up with lots of code and would just go down through the code... wouldn't even show it in action).

8520012Lots of inclass work, not much actual instruction ... good teacher if you like primaryily teaching yourself ... and dont expect grading to be quick either ... good guy otherwise
8120011Very knowledgable and very friendly... However, moves very slowly and does not make any effort to make lectures interesting...
8520003Goodman knows his stuff, but has the pace of a tortoise. He does not move through the material fast enough to be more than marginally stimulating. He has very fair tests, however, and top-notch projects. I would not recommend sitting near the front of the room, however, as his glasses can be very distracting w/those strange colors and shapes jutting out of them. They aren't as obvious from a distance.
7120003Rarely prepared for class. EXTREMELY boring lectures with no class interaction. Took about a month to start handing grades back. However, the quizes were quite easy to say the least.
9520002He's a cool guy with cool glasses :)

He taught my class very well and was a lot more prepared then most of the other teachers i've ran into in IT
8120002He is a really nice guy. It takes him about 2 months to grade assignments. (no joke) His lectures are very organized with a Power Point presentation. But for an Intro to Multimedia class, he shouldn't have such a professional format. There is ZERO group discussion. I don't think he is strict enough. One thing I hate about his IMM class, and it may not be his fault, is that its in a computer lab. When you put 2 dozon IT majors in front of a monitor, the chance that they will be able to pay attention to the lecture is very slim. I notice most students checking their mail, playing games, and even watching movies! At least he could tell us to turn off our monitors during the lectures. He knows that we don't pay attention, but he isn't doing anything about it. Since very little students are listening to his lectures, the class average for the first quiz (which was tough) was around 60%. So overall, if he had more discussion in class and more CONTROL over the students, he would be a much better teacher.
7120002not the most consistent grader, when he gets around to grading. not very stimulating. he's smart and he's a nice guy though.

6120002TOO slow paced. Already half way through his IMM and still learning how to make basic html tables... When he lectures, time to take a snooze.
9920002Class is usually interesting and not too much work. Easy going as a professor and a grader. Highly recommended.

8820002He takes forever to grade things but he is very nice and thorough.
6520001I really didn't learn anything, possibly because I already knew everything covered in this course, but Prof. Goodman read from notes 99% of the time, lectured with his eyes closed, didn't listen to/answer questions, and he took forever to grade assignments.
9520001Good professor.
8520001Needs work on pacing the course better... often too much time spent on basic info, while more important concepts barely touched. Very nice personality... genuinely cares about his students..
7820001Lectures were rather dull. WAY too much time spent on color pallets and making stuff for 256 color monitors (who has those anymore?)
7820001Professor is very knowledgeable in the area of multimedia and is genuinely interested in students. His actual teaching method suffers from relying too heavily on notes/powerpoint presentations, and not focusing on some more basic areas that non-majors may not know about.

4820001If he came to class prepared maybe I would have learned something, but i doubt it.

8819993Lectures were boring, projects were pretty good. Tests not too bad
