48 | 20023 | If had a chance to eat human excriment or take his class.... my lips would be brown. THE WORST TEACHER AT RIT...bar none...not shenoy...no one is worse. |
85 | 20023 | I dont think Barido is as bad as these previous votes have made him out to be. He knows what he is talking about and has taught it for a while (though not at RIT). He's pretty helpful if you talk to him at office hours. Not going to say he is a stand out networking prof like some of the others (Hartpence), but you can't go wrong taking this guy. |
85 | 20023 | I had him for a lab course where my machine wouldn't work in the practicum. He was very accomodating and gave me and another guy a second chance at it. His grading can be erratic though. He will cheerfully give some people As and give others a lot of attitude...and this is totally random, he doesn't play favorites. Don't take him if your GPA really, really matters to you and you don't want a professor's idiosyncrasies to mess you up. |
95 | 20023 | A really good professor, grades pretty fairly and definately knows what he is talking about. He is nothing like the person who gave him a C mentioned. He is very helpful if you don't understand something and is willing to help out. Trust me you cannot go wrong. Take him. |
71 | 20023 | Does not answer student questions very efficiently. Classes are very boring although he attempts to liven class up through corny jokes. Test are resonable but he grades fairly hard. |
75 | 20023 | Knows his stuff. Unfairly grades - so watch out! For example, I received 100% and 98% on each homework and project, but a 69% on the first exam, but my roomate received a 90%. On the next exam, I received a 98% and didn't do anything different from the first exam, and my roomate received points on answeres that completely didn't relate to some of the questions.
Same idea with practicums - someone received a 93% and she had backward memory, and her machine wouldn't even turn on, etc. But then, he takes 5% off of mine and I fixed multiple problems and was able to get into Windows. Now why does someone loose 7% for not even building a working computer, but then others can loose points when they did everything to specs? Components were exchangable with the TA for other hardware if yours was bad. So there is no excuse. Decent professor, but beware of his grading if you want to do well. You don't have to be on his bad side to get graded harshly. He has some kind of favortism or something, but I don't know how you get on his favortism list. |
61 | 20023 | Barido is a very smart guy who has been in the biz for a long time. That is probably the main reason he's such a poor prof. He def plays big time favorites and god help you if he decides he no longer likes you. I'll be receiving a B in the course so it’s not that I didn't do my work. Just avoid him; it’s not worth the hassle to put up with a biased, mediocre prof. |
