7120023Made class more difficult than it had to be, and was a very boring proffessor. Expect lots of busy work.
9920012If you do not mind learning to prove everything that the average professor will simply allow you to accept,.. great professor,.. you will definitely learn everything you need to know,.. and then some!!
9520012even though a got a B, he is the man. ALWAYS TAKE THE OPTIONS!!!!!!!!
he does make u do hw every night for a grade but it's not bad or very long. His only downfall is the crazy amount of memorization needed for his tests. here's a tip--make notecards from the start. his class requires memorization on the level of an AP bio class.
9520012G^2 single-handedly saved my grade. I never would have made it through Calc 2 without his help. Great guy, very helpful, easy to talk to. Was easy to find when I needed help.
9520012Georgantas is the man! He teaches you not only how mathematical models work, but he also explains why. If you want to truly master math, G^2 is the way to go.
9120011Sometimes writes to fast on the board, but overall a great teacher
9920011I took his class for two quarters freshman year back in 1997(Calc I, Calc II). It was suggested by my department to take the six credit hour Calculus course with review. I took their suggestion and it turned out to be one of the smarter decisions I've made while attending RIT. It's been awhile but what I learned from his class has been retained through the years. What it was like then: homework every night, everything done by hand, graded and turned back to you within 2 days. You always go for the 'Option'. He was straight forward with the tests, he would say 'This next test will not be easy. It will cover all the new material and the old material as well. For those of you that did not do as well as you wanted on the previous test, you have a choice, You can take the test with the grade going towards this one test, or you can use it to replace the previous as well as using it for the second.' The likeness to Clint Eastwood's famous saying is strictly a result of the way I remember things. (G^2 is cooler than eastwood). It's not the easy way out, G^2 is one of those teachers that earn your respect, the one's who you don't mind putting some serious time into studying/homework for.
Paying attention, putting a good effort into the hw is the key to understanding the material. And believe me, when you do understand the material, you REALLY know the material.
I completely believe the 'challenge' between sections someone mentioned, I saw the same when I talked with my friends who were in the 4 credit hour class.
This class is no joke. It's a lot of work, but if you give it a chance you'll get so much out of it. His ability is second to none, and the class is worth it.

I do regret not following into the 6 credit hour Calc III course. It may not be offered in the books, but I do remember him asking who would be interested.

9920011Professor Georgantas had to be the best professors I had this quarter. He is extremely fair with grades and wants his students to do well.
9920003G^2 is probably THE best math teacher on campus. If you want to become expert at the math course you want to take, G^2 is way to go! Of course that is if you put effort into learning. You will basically walk out of the class knowing more than people in other sections by far!
9920003I've always hated math, until these last two quarters. Somehow Prof. Georgantas makes it interesting. He really gets in to teaching the material, but at the same time he gets everyone involved. He's willing to go over anything you don't understand and he will do his best to explain it a different way to explain it to you. This guy really knows his stuff, and he's very confident that he is teaching you to the best of his ability. He even challenged his Tech Calc I class to "out do" a regular Calc I class, and we could. 'Nuff said, if you have the chance to take a class with him, DO IT, you will not regret it.
9520003G^2 is a great guy. impeccable dresser. He's tough but fair. i have great respect for him.
9920003G^2 is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. His lectures are interesting, and he takes time to answer every question throughly until the person understands it. He gives ALOT of partial credit on quizzes and exams. The quizzes are easy, but the exams are hardcore, but do-able if you pay attention in class.

G^2 rocks.

9920002EXCELLENT!!! Best teacher I had here... this is a class where you can earn an A and you WILL learn a lot. He is very organized and explains topics very well. Basically, G^2 RULEZZZZZ !!!!!
P.S. He even came to our study group... a few of us got together to study for the exam and invited him and he came to help us study, now thats a teacher who cares about his students...
9920002G^2 is by far the best Calc teacher I've had. He really knows his stuff and explains things really well. He's also been extremely helpful on getting me back on track when I don't understand something. Take advantage of his office hours and you'll understand it no problem. He does assign homework everynight, but it's good homework. He'll assign 30 problems, but you only have to hand it like 5 of them. If you need more pactice, just do some more of the problems. He also drops lowest grades!
7520002I had G^2 for Discrete Math. He is excellent at lectures, but sometimes, he can be too abstract. He is also very picky grader, sometimes takes too much point off. However, he always encourage feedbacks from students, which is good thing. Note - I was math major at that time.
9920001You do get homework every night and it is collected and graded, but Georgantas knows his stuff and you will know your calculus after you take this class. He also allows you to replace any 2 of your averages in the class with the final exam, so the homework grade doesn't really matter. All I can say is that G^2 Rocks!!!
9519993Had him for freshman calc I.....in my third year I still regard him as the best professor I ve had here. He is thorough, explains things well, and is enthusiastic about teaching.
