9920023Radin is an excellent professor who thoroughly and in a very organized way presents calculus. I was terrified of calculus before I got there, and now its not so bad. This is actually my favorite class of the semester. He speeds up towards the end of the semester, but goes over teh same concept three times for those of us who have never had calc before, and does a lot of examples in class. I'd definitely suggest him for calculus. I wish he was teaching calc II this coming semester.
9920023Even though writing all the notes, attending every class and doing all the homeworks seem little bit of pain.. It is duable. His exam questions are very similar to examples that he gives you during lectures. I highly recommand you to take his class. Don't cut class and blow !
6520013I really don't understand why everyone thinks Dr. Radin is a good professor. Having come to RIT with full knowledge of everything in Calculus II, I knew the course was going to be a grade-booster. Although I have an A, and fully understand the material (because I've been taught it before), I'm appauled at his sloppy teaching styles. The examples he makes up to do in class are often full of mistakes, and he has to go back and fix them. He is overly obsessed with charts and diagrams, and not learning actual Calculus. If I had Radin for a higher level Calculus, or didn't know this stuff already, I would be terrified. He makes the work extremely difficult to understand. Radin definitely deserved an F, but he was spared because his tests are easy, and homeworks are short, and there's only 6 all quarter long (HOW are you going to learn Calculus from a total of 5 hours of homework the entire quarter?!). He seems to care, yet I haven't yet went to his office hours and had him actually in his office. There are better choices.
9520012What I like most about Dr. Radin is how appropriately he distributes grades (so that you don't spend 5 hours on a HW that's 1% of your grade and then bomb a test that's worth 40%). His HW's are relevant, and his tests very fair. I am actually learning calculus for once. Good luck getting into his class though, good teachers are in high demand and this one is among the best in the math dept.
9920012I am only half way through his Calculus 251 course and I am actually enjoying the class. Normally I can't stand math and just endure it in order to be able to do cool engineering stuff, however he actually makes class barable and the material easy to learn. He covers all material over and over again to make sure you've got it. Doesn't care what the final answer is (in fact he gives no credit if you only give an answer to the problem regaurdless if it is right or wrong) he grades based on the work you do and gives a lot of partial credit. Very nice guy to get along with. Hard to understand with his accent sometimes, but hey, it's worth it to understand the material and get an A. I have to take lots of math during my time here and I plan to get him for as many of those classes I can.

9520011Excellent professor, definitely knows how to teach. He's very considerate to students, and seems to care a lot about each individual student. Warning: He will nag you to come to class if you miss a day... and will nag you about missing homework assignments if you don't turn them in. Grades fairly - based on how you approach the problems, not on final answers. Great prof, I recommend!
9120011This guy is such a good professor. He kacked my 88 up to an A for the course. Covers ALL of the material in duplicate. Its very hard to get a bad grade in his class. Likes to give partial credit too. Take him if you can. Only things bad are that you absolutely cannot talk in class, you have to come on time, and you have to do your homework. Homework isn't too hard if you just set aside a couple of hours each week to do it. Test are very fair and he grades them pretty well. Nothing realy bad to say about this guy. Although, he makes his "a" and "s" all crazy looking, maybe thats how they are in russian. Also hard to learn with the big-boobed chick sitting in front of me, but I'm sure she won't be in your class.
9520011know the formulas
and you will get an A
9520011Great teacher who really wants his students to learn the material. Very easy grader, hard not to get an A. Can be very boring at times but he tries hard. I would definitly take his class agian
9520011Great teacher, but kinda dull. He explains everything well. He really cares about his students. Thats a change for an RIT teacher.
